Michi McCloskey is an Associate at Sajecki Planning. She has expertise in policy and land use planning, development planning, community engagement, facilitation, and strategic communications. Michi holds a Master of Arts, specializing in Interdisciplinary Design, from the Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Ireland as well as a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning from Toronto Metropolitan University. Michi is a Registered Professional Planner and a Member of both the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute.

Michi has managed projects for a variety of public and private sector clients. Her experience includes Official Plan Reviews, Secondary Plan Reviews, Zoning By-law Reviews, Community Strategic Plans, public and stakeholder engagement programs, development feasibility studies, development approvals, and mediation. She has helped develop and implement engagement strategies on a variety of projects, including climate change strategies, master plan redevelopments, transit strategies, cultural heritage and heritage district studies, and environmental assessments. Previously, Michi served in a strategic communications role on a multi-year capital works program for the rehabilitation and replacement of watermains across the City of Toronto. She conducted direct outreach to communities during the construction process and developed key tools such as standard operating procedures and a geo-based platform to track and respond to public inquiries in a timely manner. From 2019-2023, she served as a Member of the City of Toronto Committee of Adjustment on the Etobicoke-York panel. She is currently a writer and photographer for a not-for-profit organization that focuses on the role of public space and how it can create inclusive experiences in our communities.
