Michi McCloskey

Senior Associate

Michi McCloskey is a Senior Associate at Sajecki Planning Inc. She works on a diverse range of public policy and development projects across the region, varying in scale and complexity. Michi adopts a creative and collaborative approach when working with colleagues, clients and stakeholders and has developed robust methods for engaging communities from the pre-consultation stage to approvals.

 Michi completed her Master of Arts, specializing in Interdisciplinary Design, from the Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Ireland as well as a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning from Toronto Metropolitan University. She is a Registered Professional Planner and a full member of both the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute.

 Michi’s municipal planning experience ranges from official plan, secondary plan, and zoning by-law reviews to the co-creation of community strategic plans. She has also contributed land use planning inputs on specialized studies and processes, such as environmental assessments and market analyses. On the development side, Michi oversees the preparation of due diligence and highest and best use analyses, municipal approvals, and provides expert witness support at the Ontario Land Tribunal. She previously served as a panel member of the City of Toronto Committee of Adjustment Etobicoke-York. She also served in a strategic communications position where she served as the primary liaison between multiple stakeholders on a multi-year capital works program in the City of Toronto. Michi volunteers as a writer and photographer for a non-profit organization that promotes inclusivity and belonging in communities through public spaces.
