In 2023, Sajecki Planning was retained by Crown Realty Partners to secure municipal approvals for a proposed child care centre in a vacant ground-floor unit at 90 Sheppard Avenue East in Toronto, Ontario. The site is located in the fast-growing North York Centre Secondary Plan area. The site is well served by transit with a nearby interchange subway station, and it is located within a Major Transit Station Area.
The project required one minor variance to allow ‘day nursery’ as a permitted use on the site. Sajecki Planning managed the zoning review and minor variance processes and deputed to the Committee of Adjustment on the proposed minor variance, which was successfully approved. The project will provide benefits to the local community including making use of underutilized space, improving community facilities for residents and employees, and contributing to the mixed-use nature of the North York Centre.
