Valeriya Sokolenko is a Senior Planner at Sajecki Planning. She holds a Master of Planning in Urban Development from Toronto Metropolitan University, as well as a Bachelor of Science, specializing in Renewable Resource Management, from McGill University. Valeriya has expertise in policy and land use planning, environmental planning, development planning, public engagement, and geospatial data analysis. She also has a passion for community and resiliency-based planning, with a particular interest in the intersection of natural and social systems.

In addition to her work at Sajecki Planning, Valeriya is a Volunteer Director at Open Streets Toronto. Valeriya has managed and supported on projects for a variety of public and private sector clients. Her experience includes municipal and district-wide Zoning By-law reviews, growth management strategies, community services and facilities studies, development feasibility studies, development approvals, TLAB evidence outlines, and research studies.
