In 2018 Sajecki Planning Inc. was retained by the Town of Milton, in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary consultant team, to undertake a Major Transit Station Area and Mobility Hub Study. The study explores the creation of an innovative transit-oriented, pedestrian-friendly destination with opportunities to live, work and play. The area is planned to accommodate 25,4000 residents and 4,100 jobs by 2051.

Central to the Study is the creation of an Area Specific Plan (ASP) that articulates a clear vision and policy directions related to land uses, development blocks, building heights, open spaces, and the transportation network for the Mobility Hub. Five precincts were developed to successfully respond to district environments within the Mobility Hub, each with their own area-specific strategies related to built form, public realm, street and connection objectives. Comprehensive feedback from the community and stakeholders were collected at key milestones throughout the Study and informed the final planning framework as well as the phasing and implementation recommendations.

The Study findings will inform the town-initiated Secondary Plan for the area and will serve as inputs into Milton’s new Official Plan.
