Ed is a Partner and Co-Founder at Sajecki Planning. In addition to his work at Sajecki Planning, Ed is a Senior Advisor at Strategy Corporation. He has expertise in strategic and tactical planning, policy and land use planning, development planning, and building construction.

Prior to his time at Sajecki Planning, Ed was the Commissioner of Planning and Building for the City of Mississauga, where he provided executive leadership and direction for strategic planning, priority setting, and management of the Department. He led the Department’s 200 staff in providing professional advice on matters pertaining to policy and land use planning, development planning, and construction. In doing so, Ed oversaw the issuance of planning approvals and building permits for over $15 billion in construction value between 2003 and 2017. Ed has also served as an Assistant Deputy Minister with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, the General Manager of Development and Infrastructure for the City of Burlington, the Chief Executive Officer of the Burlington Economic Development Corporation, the Commissioner of Planning and Economic Development for the former City of York, the General Manager of Planning and Development for CN Real Estate, and the Commissioner of Planning for the former City of Etobicoke.

Ed is a Registered Professional Planner, a Member of both the Canadian Institute of Planners and Ontario Professional Planners Institute, a Member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario, and a Professional Land Economist. He is also a Member of the Institute of Public Administration of Canada Domestic and International Committee, a Member of the City Building TMU Advisory Committee, a Member of the Urban Land Institute’s Toronto District Council, and a past Member of the Canadian Urban Institute Board of Directors.

Ed holds a Master of Science, in Urban Studies, from the University of Salford in the United Kingdom as well as a Bachelor of Applied Sciences, in Civil Engineering, from Queens University.
